in the city of concord and the senseless act of vandalism is costing many residents hundreds of dollars. brian flores is talking to some people and has more. >> reporter: we're live here at the 1400 of bel air drive at a condo complex. at least ten cars in this complex alone had their tires slashed. an additional 50 in the concord area. residents -- residents are trying to find other ways to get around and are paying for it. some concord residents are left with frustration. >> we're looking at $800 replacing all of the four tires because it's all the four tires that were damaged. >> reporter: she has not the only one -- she was not the only one. police say the first calls came in before 7:00 a.m. on sunday targeting glazer drive, mochado drive and bel air drive. at least nine cars were hit at one condo complex. >> it's a non-gated entry. i think that would help, or maybe just someone patrolling. we don't really know what the situation is going to be. >> kind of disheartening. to see our customers coming in having to deal with that. >> reporter: tire stores around concord were busy all day. the

the valley floor. 37 in concord. 37 in walnut creek. so a chillier start in many areas. you're 10 degrees cooler than yesterday morning. around the bay area, widespread, mid-40s to the lower 50s. so not bad outside your door. if i back up this way, look at the pattern here. so there's the system that brought us a few sprinkles early yesterday morning. and now well off to the east. we have a ridge beginning to build on in. as it strengthens, the wind will begin to decrease and that will happen later on today. right now we still remain with a pretty good grade. and that is what's continuing our morning breeze. so in a nutshell sunny skies today. breeze for the morning hours. we'll see a warmer afternoon as the ridge begins to gain control over the bay area. it's going to help warm us up. 64 degrees here. 62 san rafael. mid-60s for concord. down in the south bay you have a nice one in stored for you. low 60s for santa cruz in the afternoon. extended forecast here, so we have a couple of weak systems that will not bring us any rain, but will bring down the ridge just a little bit on monday. t

municipal airports could see cuts. >> reporter: well gasia, we are at buchanan field in concord. about 257 aircrafts take off and land on this runway every day. and the faa employees that work in this control tower right next to us, they guide those pilots in and out of the area safely. the control tower in this airport the ones in livermore, napa, santa rosa and concord are all on a list that may have their control towers shut down. if a deal on the federal budget isn't reached by the end of next week. a company that provides fuel, parking and other services to planes here say without a control tower, air traffic would plummet and business would nose dive. many of the corporate jets will not come to an airport without a control tower. he says those corporate jets make up about 80% of his business. >> it's really dangerous to operate without the tower. a lot of our business jet carriers will not surf the airport if they are shut down. i may be faced with having to lay employees off. >> reporter: over the phone he explained that most planes would still be able to take off and land here. es

, we'll see a new record, concord, 70. hayward, 70. in the south bay, warm, 72 for san jose. 73 morgan hill. 76 expected in santa cruz. there's the extended forecast. so the weekend still looking good. just not as warm. temperatures will fall back a bit on saturday. more so on sunday. with the return of the onshore breeze, we should expect to wake up with some fog on sunday morning. monday turning cloudy. temperatures now into the 50s for the afternoon highs and by tuesday, that wet weather finally arriving. we shower could use it. it looks like anywhere from 3/10 to an inch of rain. low snow levels down 2500 feet for some areas. not a lot of skiers will be excited by that. >>> palo alto high school has received a very generous gift. an anonymous donor is offering up to $20 million to rebuild the indoor athletic facilities at the school. the money would be used to build two new gyms, a dance studio, weight room and classrooms. the donor wants to work with an architect to design the new facilities. construction could start next year. >>> a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the maker
